I just finished two years of TRT with minimal improvement.  My tinnitus has increased from wearing the devices.  Stopped wearing devices for a month now but tinnitus has not improved.  Has anyone had similar experiences.

I had no negative effect on my tinnitus fortunately.  It does help my hyperacusis.

Hi There,

I have tried TRT four times and had to stop each time on the advice of the audiologist. It made my tinnitus worse or I should say, it actually gave me tinnitus. Perfect, not one problem, now two!! I tried it but it wasn't for me. So glad that TRT Therapy works for some people but unfortunately, I wasn't one of them and there are a few other people who's problem was made worse by this therapy.

Take care and praying for a cure!

About 90% of people with hyperacusis eventually get tinnitus... it is possible that it was just a coincidence that you got tinnitus after trying sound therapy.

is your TRT clinician someone who works frequently with Hyperacusis and Tinnitus Patients, did you do the other components such as CBT therapy and listening to non audio music and increase it a tiny bit weekly as with the generators?
