I had the surgery a week October 22nd and the packing was taken out on October 28th, I don't feel I lost any hearing and I have some slight improvement with being able to tolerate noise. Now i have to wait to see if it continues to improve but i am pleased so far. I will continue to post updates every few weeks on any progress or no progress.

I'm praying so much for you Daryl that it works for you as I know only too well how much this means to you. And this will be so encouraging for the hundreds and hundreds of people who suffer this horrific illness. I live in Australia and have been asking my Dr about this op. They don't seem interested or give suggestions. So could you ask them if they know if they do this op in Australia and who to ask. I have severe zH and have been EVERYWHERE for 3 years suffering with this. All the best. I hope it goes great.

Brownie, maybe you could have a surgeon contact Dr. Silversteins office and learn how to do the procedure, I don't think it's that complicated. wishing you the best.

I am praying that this helps you! His fellow sent me the questionnaire 3 days ago. He is very busy and takes a long time to get back to me. How long did it take from the time that you contacted him until you were able to have the surgery? Would you mind if I contacted you directly (if allowed) to ask some questions? Thank you, Tami

Hi there,

What was the cause of your H? Have they found H from acoustic trauma can benefit from surgery? Thanks and so glad you’re seeing improvement! I hope it only continues to get better.
