My reactive tinnitus is so bad I can't hear my own voice sometimes. I am 23. I also have category 4 hyperacusis and I can hear sounds in the negative decibel range.

TRT did not work for me. I only improved by 5 decibels in a 6 month period. Which for me...…..isn't a meaningful result considering 40 decibels hurt me. Which I don't mind the pain...…

but the reactive tinnitus...….that is what is crushing my spirit. It is so volatile.

Am I doomed to have this forever? I just don't know what to do anymore. It's from an acoustic trauma.

I have reactive tinnitus and I do not know of any long term fix of solution.  Try taking some Melatonin (it can be purchased over the counter) at night before bed time as it has had a calming effect on my tinnitus. Melatonin is not addictive as I used it daily for a year and when I quit there were no side effects. I still use the Melatonin as needed for tinnitus or a good night sleep.
