Hi,
After a 2 second noise 5 weeks ago i think i have developed Hyperacusis...However i'm not sure.

I can tolerate noise however after a period of time i start to get what can only be described as tightness in my right ear, jaw, neck and face as well as an ache in these areas. I also have a weird sensation in my ear which i wouldn't describe as pain more an electric shock or numbness if anything. I cant really relate to the ice pick feeling other people have had.

A few times a day my ear thumps which i guess could be a symptom of TTTS.

My right ear has felt broken and full since the wheel spin which set this off however if anything my old T has change to a gentle hiss rather than a tone.

Currently i'm taking Curicumin and Citalopram to control the awful anxiety this has caused me.

I've thought about using Pink noise but i'm not sure what type of Hyperacusis i have.

As always i'm hoping time is a healer and will see some of these symptoms disappear.

Any pointers on what type of Hyperacusis i may have, supplements to try or sound to listen to would be gratefully received.

Thanks in advance,
Shaun.

 Hi Shaun
How are you?
I am so  sorry this has happened to you.
What was the noise  that happened?
MY T and H started after my ears  were Micro suction 18.12.18  it s been  a nightmare since.
I have Aust.Hearing.  helping. The organised Re Sound Ear defenders specially made silicon earplugs  which are fantastic and block out 90% noise. Very dangerous  to go out into town and the street  with them. But sometimes  I have to wear them.

Life  has  changed.
I would give any thing not to have gone  to that doctor.
All of  those colour noises  are painful for me.
Re sound have a Nature noise app  that quite  different.brooks, rain, birds  ect.  That might be good for you?
Early days  for you and  all noise  must be horrible  for you.
Let us know how you go.
I hope  you have improvement soon!
Cheers
CATH

Hi Cath,
I'm in a really bad way. Constant thoughts of suicide and how to escape this torture.

The noise that kicked this off was 2 seconds of loud wheel spin from my brothers car. Since that moment my ear has ached and I've been a wreck.

I can stand most everyday sounds however by about 3pm my ear is on fire. Yesterday I cried in pain.

I tired to watch a film yesterday but my ear kept tingling.... I had to pause every 10 minutes and let my anxiety subside.

Every second of the day my ear aches. My nerves are shattered and I'm on the edge of a panic attack all the time.

I'm praying over the next few months things improve.

Do you think it's possible by high anxiety is causing a lot of these problems?

Shaun.
