Hello, I've had hyperacusis since Jan 2014. My sound tolerance has improved by not responding anxiously to noise and weaning myself off of ear plugs (although I still use them in noisy environments). I've been able to spend more time with one family member at a time now.

When the hyperacusis began, excessive noise would immediately hurt and it would result in an immediate increase in tinnitus, fullness, and ear pain. Now, I sense when noise is becoming too much, and I leave the environment, but sometimes the pain, tinnitus, and ear pain doesn't occur until hours later or the next day. Does anyone know why this would be? Any explanation might help me as I try to figure out the path of healing. Thank you [sherlock]

Sounds normal, that happens to me also.

Are you undergoing sound therapy or TRT to improve your hypearcusis?
