I want to let everyone know we have an idiot for a surgeon running loose in our city.

I was in the hospital in July of 2009.  All this jerk did was waltz in and out and glance at me.  He wants $855.00 for those two or three glances.

Since that time, I have been hit with all kinds of expense, including paying out of pocket for my wife's funeral services.

Today, I get an insane certified letter I had to go to the post office and sign for, from this idiot.

He claims I've been in a doctor-patient relationship with him, and that I need ongoing care.  He whines he is terminating "services" due to my not paying $855.00.  For what?  So he could make a U-turn in my room and walk out?  The man never touched me, never prescribed one med.

Replying to this insanity was a breeze.  I simply told him there was no doctor-patient relationship to begin with.  I reminded him that he had done no surgery on me or prescribed no drugs.  I never have even set foot in his office!

This is the kind of medical "care" we have, people.  The only surgery this guy wants is cutting into my wallet for money I don't have.  He knows the health reform passed, and timed this to cut my throat for services he dreamed he provided me.   He told me in one of his touch and go hospital room landings that I have diverticulitis.  Not so.  Wrong there.  The gastro Dr. said it was only a blocked bowel and I'm doing fine to this day.

I let the guy know he was wrong and was harrassing me, and that I would be seeing about that later.

Sadly, he is the only surgeon listed for this city's number two hospital.  I just pray I don't need general surgery.  We have numerous specialists to do anything I might need anyway.  If I need general surgery, I will go to our larger and main hospital.

What blows me away he tells me I need ongoing medical care.  Not seeing me for over a year, how does he come to that conclusion?  I hope he chooses a competent psychiatrist, because he is in need.

Was he the attending physician during your hospital visit?  If so, he rendered services.  Did you have labs?  Tests?  IV's?  Then he ordered those tests and spent time reviewing the results.

During my son's hospital visit, a specialist coming in for consultation charged $160.00.

If you don't have insurance, some doctors will reduce their fee for their private pay patients.  You can also work out a payment plan.  Failure to pay means this doctor will turn you over to a collection agency.  Then you will have problems for sure.  Sorry, Tony.

P.S.
My son had complications following a day surgery, resulting in a 30 day hospital stay.  Needless to say, I'm making payments.  Yeah, I have buyers remorse over that little day surgery, but I thank God he's alive.

No, no problems for me.  My financial advisor understands my fix and said to ignore bill collectors if I just don't have it and I don't.  I've changed my phone number numerous times to keep the wolves from harrassing me, and I will again if I have to.  If I could afford insurance like you and others, there would be no problem.  I fall between the cracks--too young for Medicare (won't be any, thanks to Obama when I AM old enough) plus low bank account.  Disabled, too old to work.  Sorry, wolves.  I have to eat and pay rent, believe it or not!  And lights are nice to have on when it's cold.  That is what I told this idiot.

I am glad your son is okay.  God is our Great Physician anyway.

I have to eat and pay rent,

From what i have heard one of the effects of the difficult housing market is that in some cases -
people could buy a house, for less per month - than they pay in rent.

Wow, wonder what state that is in, QB?  I'll move there!  That would be nice except for property tax and paying all bills.

Tony,
About what you mentioned in post #4 - about what your  financial advisor said about the bills you mentioned to Marilyn....
I wonder if your advisor thinks it is fine and maybe prudent For You to ignore those other  bills, but when it comes to his - expects to be paid?

I haven't indicated I am not paying any bills, just can't pay the $24,000.00 one I owe the hospital for last year's 7 day stay.  I pay some when I can on all of them.  I can give you my financial advisor's phone number if you want to take this up with him.

Yeah, there's a truckload of bills from mostly collection agencies in the living room, have to kick your way through.  Some for Barb, more for me.  If I was rich, I could pay them off.

Thanks, QB.
