Heya folks,

So I've been battling with tinnitus and hyperacusis (I'm not autistic - professionally diagnosed) and it's killing me. Well, at night it really hits me, tonight especially and my right ear is going off the bloody hook. It's almost like Morse code...it doesn't shut up with the same du du du du du du. Where is this sound coming from? I honestly don't blame the one guy who committed suicide over it...its really annoying and life altering (to me it is btw there really is one guy who committed suicide over itx look it up [smile] )...
Anyway, I absolutely HAVE to listen to music everyday and everywhere I go (unless I have company) because every sound makes me intense. But now after I meditated, my right ear skyrocketed...
But I think it has more to deal with whatever outer noise is effecting it so bad.

Any one deal with this?
Which ear is worse for u?
Any cures [smile] ?

Follow the rebel,

Hi- so sorry you are going through this. I, too, have the "morse code" in my left ear. Diagnosed with stapedial myoclonus but ear is so sensitive that my Westie's food bark can bring me to tears! My "journey" started in May, 2015 with a flare up of TMJ dysfunction . My ear problems started next- the clacking morse code almost drove me crazy. Could only sleep a couple of hours at a time. Strangely when I began treatment for my jaw with a 24/7 appliance worn for six months, I did get relief from clacking. It has returned somewhat at most inconvenient times. I am 2 months into the jaw therapy, but have known that I also have Eustachian tube dysfunction . For all the above I have used all the "usual" meds-mucinex, magnesium, B vitamins, Robaxin, flexeril , Mobic,Dymista, neti pot, otovent balloon, etc. Recently read about someone using OTC Flonase and that did the trick for their clacking issues. Also, Clair Davies' trigger point therapy helped with head/neck issues that seem to exacerbate the ear problems. I started Flonase 3 days ago, and it seems to be working ! Who would have guessed that it could help? I am beyond thrilled to lie down at night and not hear a tiny typewriter in my ear. The last point I wanted to mention is my posture- if my jaw is jutting forward (computer time, etc.) I notice a direct link to my ear - clacking starts. I have heard (but haven't tried yet) the Egoscue method for correcting pain through work on posture. Also, when using my phone or tablet, if my head is lowered for a while, the clacking can start. I'm definitely a work in progress- but wanted to share what seems to be helping me now. I'm praying for complete healing - I will never take my ear health for granted!
