Hyperacusis Research Subjects Needed

March 2, 2014 - Adult subjects with mild to moderate hyperacusis who are located within driving distance of Irvine, CA are needed for sound testing research. This study is designed to help differentiate hyperacusis from tinnitus and to better understand the specific mechanisms of the condition. For more information, please contact Fan-Gang Zeng, PhD at the University of California Irvine Hearing and Speech Lab, email: fzeng@uci.edu; tel: 949-824-9107

I will definitely pass on information as I become aware of it.  I have severe hyperacusis and have personally met with Dr. Zeng and his research team at UCI.  He is a very talented researcher and a kind man. One of the researchers (a graduate student), actually has hyperacusis.  All of this gives me hope that there soon will be breakthroughs in hypercusis research and ultimately a cure.
