I just want to say hi to everyone in the forum. I am fellow hyperacusis sufferer. This is my first time getting on the message board. It's good to know that there's a place where we can communicate and find support and encouragement.

Hello there.  I am also a long-term sufferer, through the chronic illness of M.E., etc. etc. and it is so hard to have an outing with all other noise, and to cope with it.  A baby crying can send me into utter panic, and being disabled, I cannot always get away.   I also have tinnitus and some deafness, yet sounds are so very loud and unbearable.

Yes, it is good to have somewhere to chat, and to know that others understand.

sincerely, Sojourner

Hello Sojourner,

Thank you for your reply. Yes I agree, it can be very isolating not being to go out and participate in the simple activities that people take for granted. So many places are so noisy that it's very difficult to get together with people.

I go for bicycle rides with my group. We ride mostly on bicycle trails and quiet residential roads. I've also gone to the beach this year for some swimming and just enjoying the scenery.
