With the help of Dr. David Baguley, the ENT & Audiology publication, January/February issue featuring the most current clinical articles on hyperacusis has been granted permission access to this material

The Hyperacusis Network is very grateful to Dr. David Baguley and the powers to be of ENT & Audiology for allowing access to this material.  Never before has this been done.

Thank you

Thank you.  I have also asked Polly in Scotland, from ENT & Audiology if it would be possible to obtain some extra copies of the publication.   This is no small magazine.  This issue was 185 pages long.  Polly will see what she can do.  If the network receives any I will give an update in this thread.  The network would only charge enough to cover the postage.  They would be available on a first come first serve basis by sending a request to the network email (earhelp@yahoo.com) and giving your full name and mailing address.

On an important side note: We are truly past a period now where no doctor or clinican can ignore a patient's noise sensitivity.  Any patient suffering with significant decreased sound tolerance (DST) can now produce a printed version (from your computer) of some of the articles in this publication explaining precisely what you suspect you have.  I have been waiting for this to happen for 22 years.  I am so thankful that a clinical journal in the field of audiology has featured hyperacusis in their publication with the contributoring editors being dominant voices who are so well respected.  This was huge!

Having said that, the only true way to validate your DST is to meet with a qualified clinician trained to treat hyperacusis.

Lots of good stuff here about hyperacusis from different perspectives.  Great to see a well-regarded journal dedicating an entire issue to hyperacusis.

I have been asking for additional copies of this issue but Polly Chester said this issue was very popular and is completely sold out.  Anyone who needs a copy of the hyperacusis articles from this publication should contact the network: earhelp@yahoo.com  I will see what I can do...

ENT & Audiology has sent the network 10 issues of their magazine featuring hyperacusis.  This is a substantial clinical publication (185 pages in full color) meant specifically for clinicians.  The staff at ENT & Audiology, based in Scotland understands the interest this issue has generated among individuals with hyperacusis and wanted to accomodate our request for additional copies if at all possible.

This was not possible because the original printing sold out.  Additional requests from clinicians for more copies resulted in their decision to reprint this issue - very unusual.  Fortunately they printed extra copies for our distribution.  No further request for copies will be accepted.  This is a one time gift to our network.  We are very grateful.

The network would be happy to accomodate any requests for the complete issue of this publication by anyone on a first come first serve basis.  Even though the actual magazine costs $15.00 US dollars, we will send it to anyone providing the cost of postage is covered.  That means $5.00 US shipment, $10 international.

Payment through paypal is preferred to dmalcore@yahoo.com
