Did anyone ever see the episode of criminal minds where Thomas Gibson's character has a bout with hyperacusis?  I've never watched that show, but I was flipping through the channels last night heard the term "hyperacusis."  This was kind of refreshing, since I have never heard of this term outside of this network.  Anyway, the more it gets "out there" the better our chances for treatment/cure.

That's interesting! I did't see it.
I was furious however when I saw it in a James Patterson crime novel!! The 6th target - it wasn't as BAD as some of his novels (co-written with Maxine Paetro) and I think it's good the message about it gets out there - but I think it was trivialized and not really showing possible 'whys' or causes, or what people could do about it!!

If you read it, you'll know what I mean!! I was quite outraged!! (But don't want to spoil the book for others!)
