A year ago (March 2014) I began experiencing hyperacusis and tinnitus (out of the blue) along with an attack of vertigo that led to testing - diagnosis for vertigo was Central Vestibular Disorder of unknown origin (CAT scan revealed nothing).

I had several vertigo attacks Dec.2014, Jan 2015, Feb 2015 and now today, a more prolonged one.

My "balance doctor" from the Balance Center says no connection with hyperacusis....but I finally am forcing myself to endure an MRI (with ear protection) to see what is going on and if any connection, since all three started at same time (and life has been stressful and challenging since then..and sometimes scary)

Any experience with all three (tinnitus, hyperacusis and Central Vestibular disorder vertigo) acutally being related in one syndrome.  My CAT scan showed no tumor or stroke evidence but MRI is more thorough...my life is sort of on hold in many ways as I lost two of my three part time jobs and no longer feel safe to drive to my volunteer jobs, etc..sigh.

Thank you so much. This has been a time of much anxiety, grief and fear....Nan
