After 6 weeks into the surgery I am very pleased with the results, I find that if I talk on the phone my ear doesn't have the pain it used to have, If I go out to eat the noise is about 70% tolerable, I ask Dr. Silverstein about the Surgery in detail today he indicated that they wrap the tissue around the bone behind the ear drum to stop it from vibrating and as time goes on the tissue becomes scarred which stops the bone from moving more and should improve the HP as well. So far it's been a positive experience. I am getting my right ear done in January.
