Hi Gary,

Nope, you are not a loner in this situation.  I have a hard time with the TV if it's in another room and I can only hear it softly.  For example, my husband wakes up WAY earlier than me.  Our bedroom is next to the living room where we watch TV.  He will then turn on the TV and he does keep it really low in volume but I can still hear it and it wakes me up.  I can't make out what is on but I can hear it and it drives me nuts to the point where I can no longer sleep.  Funny thing is, I can go out into the living room where I can hear it loud as can be, and fall asleep and sleep like a baby.

Go figure.
