Well, dp, I confess that I used some alternative logic.

 

See, I took a look at that incredibly obscure puzzle and figured that I couldn't come up with the correct answer if I worked at it all day and all night for a week.  So I took a wild guess.  I figured that either I'd get it right (which apparently I did) or - the test being an SAT - I'd be penalized 25% for getting it wrong.  Normally you don't take a totally wild guess on the SAT under such circumstances (i.e., if you can't narrow it down) - but then again, I've already been to college ... so the SAT means nothing to me anyway.

 

And I got lucky!

sp, it seems dp has challenged you to come up with an answer SAT questions 5a and 5b.  You may want a double-shot of the old java bean before wading in too deep on those.
