Hello:

Sunday morning is the time when my sensitivity to noise impacts me the most as most church services seem very loud to me.

I've had hyperacusis for about 10 years and I used to go to a small church that was reasonably quiet compared to most. Well, the music director is fairly old and possibly losing his hearing and has cranked up the volume in the speakers of the Sunday Morning service so it resembles the volume level of most churches which is just too loud for me.

I'm wondering if there are other people in San Diego, CA who are adverse to loud noisy services, who know of a quiet bible believing church in the area or if there are not any, might like to get together for church on Sunday morning? I'm thinking, if we started our own, it would be with no microphones and no speakers.

Hello Rob,

Just wanted to let you know that I have amplified hearing perception with T, and have not been in a church for six years!   I agree they are too loud.  I can not refer you to quiet church, but I believe you have a great idea, having a group come to your home.

Letting you know you are not alone.  Wish I could be of more help.

God bless,
Kathy Mc

Hello Denis:

Thanks for your feedback. I take earplugs everywhere I go, they used to help some, but they raised the volume to a level that is too loud for earplugs.

Happened to me too when the organist gets too excited I just walk out of the Church a few meters and then stay there till that part is done
However now my H is a bit better - maybe because of Tebonin and Vitamin B3 - Niacin or on its own
