hello, my name is joanna i'm 19 and had h all my life,
i'm thinking of starting a community and support for people around my age and younger a problem for young women and h in uk is they go to doctors and the doctor says its thier hormones! Treatment for young people isnt taken as seriously sometimes beacause of our younger age and medicine isnt always given out like it would be for older people.

For years i've wanted to start a helpline or something. I collect money in a jar at home for the h.network to keep running. And i did my last art project in my two year diploma on hyperacusis, paintings and vision and sound installations.

if anyone is interested in this get back to me on here or even msn messenger me on annaoj2001@aol.com or skype me at:  fairyofdeath1

J

i'm a little unconfident about this as i left messages on the other board asking for medical advice and got nothing in responce.

Hi Joanna,  ((( Smiles )))

Sorry about your pain....
For sleep I was on Trazadone but sounds like your pain goes beyond H..
I wish I could tell you what it was.
What is going on in your body but I can't
When it come to hormones...
You being a young gal and all...
I'm at the other end of the hormone phase chart..
I enjoy your colorfull art work though..
I've had alittle pain recently myself..
I though it was a urine tract infection..
But they say it's not.
So.. I shall I have an ultra sound...
Hope I don't need more tests but it seems like you've been through many.
Right now I'm takeing some Thorne products..
Nutritional support and detoxification..
It's frustraing myself as for me...
I was so sure it was a UTI....
I know how that feels and it felt like one..
They mentioned kidney stone and I've never had one of thoses before..
So I shall drink tons of water and wait and see..
Hopefull someone will read of your symptoms and have an idea..
If it gastrointestinal...
A good cleaning out may help...
I just don't know what it is for you...
Sorry Joanna..

Yeah I'm a teen with hyperacusis, and I haven't been treated as fairly as possible. In the medical field I would say is just as abundant as with the social aspect. I've found help after searching, and am now being taken serious as an individual with a problem.

Also regarding those sigs...I think there might be a reason why [img] tags are blocked where they should actually go

Hi my daughter is 15 yrs old, and would love to talk to someone who is going through the same thing she is.
Drs say she doesn't have an ear problem despite having stabbing pain in her ears and extremely sensitive hearing. I'm trying to help her as best I can but it would be so good to be able to have contact with other young people who really understand she is going through.
So sorry that you are suffering too.

I'm 17 and I've had hyperacusis since I was 16 due to chronic loud noise exposure. I completely understand. Doctors usually aren't much help. But maybe look into not going to an ENT but instead an neurologist. Because it seems (at least many conclude) hyperacusis and Tinnitus isn't simply an ear related issue but also a brain related issue.

I believe I've stopped getting pain hyperacusis but more so loudness hyperacusis. Because my Hyperacusis doesn't necessarily feel painful anymore. It doesn't feel like I'm being stabbed in my eardrum with an icepick. I just feel as if everything is wayyyy to loud.

Hi Joanna

I'm not a teen but treat teens and people of all ages with hyperacusis and tinnitus in the UK. I am new on this board so still finding my way around.

I take everybody seriously and would never dream of putting it down to hormones etc .... sorry you had some bad experiences

Being not a teen, do let me know if I'm not welcome here ....
