I have not used my phone for voice calling since I got pain from the tinny iphone speakers (even when holding it from a distance).

I have a pair of Bose QC35 but the volume is too high even on the lowest setting. (I  have an iphone)

Any recommendations for an headset that I can use for calling?

Hi Johan,

I use a set of bluetooth headphones that really smooths out the harshness and allows me to use my cell phone more regularly and for long conversations. They work great. Please see the below link and discussion regarding these:
