Hello everyone,

I'd like to have as much information as possible on my symptoms...

I have little spasms in my left ear.

1)I can almost feel like a muscle is contracting, making a small thumping sound. Souds a lot like when ears pop from pressure changes, but not as loud.

2)It is irregular, and it doesn't follow my hearbeat in any way... Sometimes it will last for a few minutes, or for hours.

3)Its seems to happen especially when I am tired (bad night of sleep), and worse in the morning.

4)It doesn't hurt, although the days I have these spasms, my ear feel more tense and "full" than usual.

5)I can be days or even weeks without it. Then I can get it for 3-4 days in a row.

6)It is NOT in response to sound!

Sounds irriatating to say the least.

I have that problem, but with other parts of the body, fortunately, not the ear.

If it is a muscle spasm, have you tried a muscle relaxer ?

For me personally, I have tried  quite a few over the years without any luck.  So far, the only one that works for me is Zanaflex.   You have to tweak the dose just right, because it can make you sleepy, which is great at night when I increase the dose.

Good Luck

No I have not tried anything yet. I don't want to take meds and deal with secondary effects yet, since I don't have it all the time...

It is a response to sound.

No it isn't. It can happen in total SILENCE. In fact, most of the time it does.

I also have a reaction to sudden sounds, but its not the same thing.
